Prayer and worship are at the core of each day at Sacred Heart. In addition to beginning each day with an act of morning worship, often led by pupils, all members of the school community take part in weekly assemblies following a themed calendar which reflects our rich liturgical heritage both as a Diocesan school and a member of the worldwide Sacred Heart Community. We aim to live out the mission of our founder St Madeleine Sophie Barat who said, “Make prayer your delight; there find your rest and your happiness.”

We aim to enable pupils to see prayer as a companion in their faith journey, and therefore in addition to opportunities to attend the Eucharist and celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation, pupils take part in meditation sessions and annual retreats where they can develop their prayer life and understanding of their faith.
