All Sixth formers will be expected over the course of each of their years of study to demonstrate a commitment to

  • the Catholic life of the school (FAITH)

through participation in assemblies, liturgies, prayer and worship

  • their own intellectual or academic development beyond the taught curriculum (INTELLECT)

through wider reading and independent study

  • community service or volunteering (SOCIAL AWARENESS)

through participation in the community service programme either in school or in an external placement with a local primary school or parish or old people’s home

  • service to the school community (COMMUNITY)

through following our school policy for learning in a Sacred Heart community, acting as positive role models for younger pupils and taking on positions of leadership and responsibility

  • their own cultural development and awareness (PERSONAL GROWTH)

through participating in enrichment opportunities



We expect all Sixth formers to:

  • Make every effort to attend school every day and to bring a note from a parent or carer in the event of absence
  • Be punctual to school and to lessons
  • Complete all work set by teachers as preparation for lessons or consolidation of learning
  • Take responsibility for extending their own learning
  • Be smartly presented and abide by the school’s regulations concerning uniform, jewellery and make-up
