Development Office
We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of the wider school community. As a state school, our funds are limited and so it is up to Parents to provide support by volunteering their time and, if they can, by making a donation to our school.
Sacred Heart is always seeking ways to improve the school grounds and facilities and as such, an evolving plan is in place for enhancements. We have recently refurbished our Design and Tech suite and have cleaned the stoned and installed a new stone floor in the chapel. We will also look to replacing the furniture in the chapel and enhancing its lighting, acoustics and screens for presentations.
We are in the process of commissioning a series of improvements to our outdoor areas. More detail on this will follow but one aspect will be to provide additional rain shelters. We have prepared a landscape brief covering the area at the front of the school (ie the front lawn and area around the netball courts, our cloister garden (The Garth) and also the area previously known as the Science Garden, behind the wall on Hammersmith Road.
Our redevelopment of a new building donated to the school by the Society of the Sacred Heart, is expected to be ready for occupation in September 2023. This building will provide enhanced facilities for our sixth formers, with classrooms on the ground floor and a wonderful vaulted roof quiet study area on the first floor.
We still await the outcome of our planning application to redevelop the 'old gym' into a 'theatre in the round' - a performing arts centre. This would be used not just for dramatic theatre performances but also for music recitals, lectures and rehearsals, with an atrium for students to enjoy at break times.
Without the committed support of Parents and the PTFA, these projects would simply not be possible.
Thank you once again for supporting our school.
