University Destinations
We have a full programme of higher education preparation activities throughout the sixth form, led by the Key Stage 5 Team. A variety of staff and opportunities are available to assist students at each stage, from careers advisors helping students to decide what course to pursue, to attending UCAS fairs, apprenticeship and university presentations to help make choices easier.
Workshops guide students to write winning personal statements and higher education experts are on hand to advise on these. Each student meets with the UCAS referee individually to discuss and submit their applications for university. There is excellent support and collaboration provided through the rich network of schools that our Sixth Form are partnered with.
Our students regularly attend Higher Education Conferences, lectures and interview preparation programmes at St Paul’s Girls’ School and other West London Partnership Schools, as well as benefit from the Emmaus Catholic Schools’ Partnership and links with other Sacred Heart Schools in the UK and abroad. These supplement our own Oxbridge and Janet Erskine Stuart Programmes (see tab), especially for students who aspire to apply to Oxbridge and other Russell Group Universities.
Tutors, departmental academic mentors, and higher education coordinators work together with the students and their parents to provide the support necessary, whether helping to complete applications, or preparing for interview.
The following are the destinations of our 2022-2023 class. We are proud to confirm that 80% of our leavers achieved their first university choice with 38% of applicants awarded a place at a Russell Group University.
